About The Defense of the Trinity (Fall 2025)
The doctrine of the Trinity is one of the most important tenets of Christianity. Without the Trinity, the fundamentals of our faith, particularly regarding salvation, crumble and fall apart. Ironically, given its paramount importance, the Trinity is one of the most misunderstood doctrines, even by Christians. It is also one of the most maligned doctrines by critics of Christianity. For these reasons, it is important for believers to understand what the doctrine of the Trinity teaches and what it doesn’t teach.
This class will provide an overview of the doctrine of the Trinity and answer the primary criticisms leveled against this uniquely Christian teaching. To accomplish this, we will examine the nature of the One true God to determine the totally exclusive attributes that are inherent in His divinity, and then demonstrate from Scripture that the Persons of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit each possess these particular qualities. By the end of the session we will understand that there is no contradiction in the statement, “Three Persons exist as one God.”
